After watching TV, using computer, or
prolonged reading, simple massage on the
points around the eyes can help reduce
tiredness, tension, dark circle, and
puffiness.
There are seven important acupoints around
the eye. Six are as shown in the diagram
and the seventh one is right on the temple
area. Please note, do not massage on the
eyeball, these points are located on the
bony rim of your eye socket. When you feel
them, they are usually very tender to
pressure from your finger tips and most of
them you may feel a ridge or a groove
underneath the skin.
Before you start the massage, relax
your mind and close your eyes. First, use your index finger, with
middle finger sitting on top of the nail of
the index finger, massage in circular
motion in an outward direction (from medial
to lateral side of the eye) on the point
labelled as "1". Press hard enough to feel
soreness on the point, for 10
second. Reapeat the same motion for point
2,3,4,5,6, and temple region. This counts
as one cycle. Do 7 cycles. This can be
done on both eyes at the same time.
Afterwards, rub your palms till very warm,
cover your eyes right away and let the heat
from the centre of your palms warms up the
whole eye for 1-2 min.
